I have read very little these last two months with holiday festivities and honestly, a lack of desirable reading material. Being a fan of author Susan May Warren, I leapt at the opportunity to review her new book in her Christiansen Family series, You’re the One That I Want. This series is six books and one novella long, which in this case has been fantastic. If you have been looking for a series to follow, these might be your books. You can see the entire series on Susan May Warren’s website, here.

In You’re the One That I Want,  Warren writes the story of Owen Christiansen, official black sheep of the family. After fleeing Deep Haven to shake off his latest and past mistakes, Owen finds himself in Alaska in a life or death situation. In a selfless move, he unknowing is given a new beginning and a chance at happiness with a woman who is both beautiful and tough. Before he can begin again, he must return home and make right a few wrongs.

I love that Warren allows for redemption and a new beginning for even the slimiest of characters. I wasn’t sure I would be able to enjoy Owen’s story, because of the mischief he has caused in prior books. However, I quickly changed my tune when I saw him through the eyes of Scotty (the beautiful and tough love interest). I think the only thing that could have made this book better would have been a bit more page time between Scotty and Owen. Otherwise, I give this Christiansen Family novel a thumbs up and a hearty recommendation for a great winter read.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book by its publisher in exchange for an honest review. I have not been compensated and all opinions are my own. I was not required to give a positive review.
